Mick's Arcade Cabinet - Page7

Page the seventh - in which (some time later!) I do some much needed updates and present some of the features.

Created on: Monday 11 June 2007

Some tidying up is necessary: the top has been left loose - this has been good for ventilation but not good for completeness! The slide-out drawer needs a front and the speaker panel needs painting. Let's see what we can do on a Sunday afternoon...

PinkGrip is this week's favourite building adhesive

"WARNING - NOT FOR AMATEUR USE" - yeah right!

That'll help secure the rear top panel

Messy stuff but it cleans up good.

The panel is levelled with clamps...

...and a couple of glue blocks on the inside will fix it OK.

A view from the front -- ooh, there's my car in the drive!

Now, a front for the slide-out drawer.

The workings!

The top section doors open - they have magnetic catches. What's that inside? An original GameBoy and a Sanwa bat joystick!

The bottom section doors open - lots of junk get s kept in here!

The drawer front is attached with simple angle brackets.

I really need to do something with the front of the control panel.

The speaker panel painted. Matt black looks very cool!

The paintwork is battered but that's to be expected: it gets a lot of use and abuse - especially when transported.

More later, Mick.
